So, I'm going on a self-imposed diet from political sites. I'm still checking my one flamingly liberal Seattle-area newsblog (The Stranger's Slog), but that's also just entertainment, since I can't read my flist at work. (LJ is blocked, IJ is not; it's definitely nice to have this option.) Anyway, back to the political-site diet. I have been getting more and more tense about politics, and I swear I think I might stroke out if I keep getting so worked up about the election. So, no more paging through the NY Times, Washington Post, Politico, DailyKos, etc. I can watch The Daily Show, though. That's like Slog - it's entertainment. :-) And it doesn't cause my blood pressure to spike.
Anyway. I think I'll go skim the ol' IJ flist. How are you guys? Doing okay? It's Friday, so that's a start, right? Right. |

First, I love that icon. That's advice we could all use!
I've been thinking about weaning myself away from all the politics as well. I'm not sure I can give up Rachel Maddow, though; I'm kind of in love with her. But I'm so tense about politics. I'm convinced that McCain is going to win, and that Palin will be president in a year or two. And then what? Move to Canada? Or Sweden; I'm looking at Sweden pretty closely right now. I dunno. It's so horrible. I used to say I wouldn't leave the country until people started disappearing; that's a good indication that something is really wrong, y/n? But with Palin in power . . .
It's Friday! I love Friday because of the coming weekend. I hope not to do much this weekend. I need a lazy weekend.
How bout you, darlin' Pi?
I feel exactly the same way about politics, except that even Maddow and Stewart raise my BP.
FRIDAY. *takes deep breath* | |
